Other Services

Many students face a variety of barriers to learning in the school environment. When you partner with us at Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS), we will place highly qualified service providers in your district, alongside other clinicians, to help address these challenges so that your students can fully access their education.

Comprehensive, School-Based Pediatric Services

In addition to our more traditional pediatric therapy and related services, we also offer other comprehensive services to our partnering districts. We can place the following professionals in your schools:

  • Nurses
  • Interpreters
  • Special Education Teachers
  • Assistive Technology Specialists
  • Teachers of the Visually Impaired
  • Orientation and Mobility Specialists
  • Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

At PTS, we take a multi-disciplinary, collaborative approach to related services that support the Whole Child. As needed, our clinicians and service providers can lead in-service trainings about the best practices within their discipline. This will enable everyone who engages with your students to gain a better understanding of how to support their specific learning needs in the classroom.

Nurses support the growth and development of children and youth in general education as well as students with special needs. They lead health-related interventions, perform health screenings, conduct assessments, develop Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs), and more.

In a school setting, Interpreters usually facilitate communication between students who are hard of hearing and their teachers, administrators, staff, and peers. For example, they may translate classroom instruction into sign language or another form of communication for the student to understand.

Special Education Teachers

Special Education Teachers

Special Education Teachers teach students living with intellectual or developmental disabilities. They help create Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), work as part of each student’s IEP team, and adapt their instruction methods based on the unique needs of the students.

AT Specialists

AT Specialists

Assistive Technology (AT) is any equipment, devices, or systems that help increase, maintain, or improve a student’s functional ability. AT Specialists can help choose, design, fit, customize, adapt, maintain, or repair AT devices in schools.

Visually Impaired

Teachers of the Visually Impaired

Teachers of the Visually Impaired are licensed special education teachers with additional certifications and specialized training. To help meet the educational needs of students who are blind or visually impaired, they provide both direct instruction and consultative services.

Orientation & Mobility

Orientation and Mobility Specialists

School-based Orientation and Mobility Specialists specialize in supporting students who are blind or have visual limitations. To help each student achieve their learning goals, they address non-visual, visual, physical, cognitive, and psychosocial factors that impact their ability to access their education.

Teachers of the Deaf

Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing are special education teachers who provide specialized educational instruction and necessary assistance to students using American Sign Language (ASL).
